There was good information and advice in Gail Marks-Jarvis’ Dec. 12 column in the News Tribune Business section, headlined, “Donor-advised funds offer a way to give to charity, reap tax advantages.”
News Tribune readers might want to know that the Duluth Superior Area Community Foundation is the local provider of donor-advised funds. Donors who wish to keep their gifts local can establish a donor-advised fund at the community foundation. Through one of these funds, they can call upon the community foundation’s knowledge of local needs and charitable opportunities to maximize the use of their contributions.
