The News Tribune's decision to publish the June 14 letter, "Arizona immigration law justified," which included "dark-skinned, bearded" Middle-Easterners and "black men with hats on sideways" as examples to justify racial profiling was unfortunate.

The News Tribune's decision to publish the June 14 letter, "Arizona immigration law justified," which included "dark-skinned, bearded" Middle-Easterners and "black men with hats on sideways" as examples to justify racial profiling was unfortunate.

The letter did not appear to have been edited for

civility, as the Opinion page claims to do, nor did it present Duluth as a tolerant, educated and modern community hoping to welcome thousands of diverse visitors this summer.
