Reading about the proposed site for a mosque near the World Trade Center site and about the flag-burning in protest of the proposed Quran-burning made me stop to think. President Obama was hasty with his decision to support building a mosque at that site. How about one center there, supporting and representing all faiths and religions? After all, we seek the same goals; we just take different paths to get there.
A preacher has anti-Muslim views. What's wrong with this picture? Should a man of God be anything but neutral in all aspects of life? What is he really trying to teach us? What happened to "turn the other cheek"? The preacher should step down for taking a political view and twisting it around for his 15 minutes of fame. The Quran is just a book, and so is the Bible. Burning a book serves no purpose; it doesn't bring us any closer to peace. Besides, it's not like it's the only book in existence. Print more copies.
I cannot accept the belief that any one religion is the true religion to follow. In the interest of humanity I respect everyone's choice to follow their own religion. Why should I condemn others because they choose to follow their own beliefs?
