Lately, wherever I go, it seems like someone has their pet with them. Whether it's at a store, in a restaurant, at the hair salon, on the bus or at the mall, there's a pet. Some hide the animals by putting them in their jackets or by wrapping them in baby blankets. Others just bring them out into the open, even though rules say, "service animals only." When asked, some animal owners say the dog or pet is their baby and they can't bear to leave it alone. And I'm not talking just about dogs; I also see people with cats and exotic animals.

Don't get me wrong: I am not an animal hater. I just think pets should not be brought everyplace. Also, there are some people who are allergic to animal fur or who are afraid of certain kinds of animals. And there are people who just hate pets.

Most rules about animals are for health and safety reasons. I feel the rules should be enforced not just for some but for everyone.
