Columbus this, Columbus that!
Every year on Columbus Day, we see attacks on Christopher Columbus, and this year was no different, with the students' views published on Oct. 11 under the headlines: "Columbus was no hero," "Columbus killed thousands," "Columbus wanted gold," and "A mean, horrible, man."
Every year, it seems, people find new ways to rewrite history and new ways to blame Columbus for perceived or actual calamities. Who knows? He may be tied to George Bush next.
Seriously, it's time to get a life and get over it, as Columbus lived in a world much different than today.
