With the upcoming local elections, I wanted to comment on 4th District City Council candidate Garry Krause's missing signs. He claimed more than
125 signs were stolen. That was interesting. I heard from homeowners along Piedmont Avenue and Anderson Road that Krause signs were placed in their yards without their consent; the homeowners removed them themselves.
I'd also like to look back at some Krause City Council highlights. We all remember the debacle over a public ban on alcohol sales near parks. Now there was a well-thought-out idea. And it was met with such overwhelming support -- one vote: Krause's.
Krause also was the only dissenting vote on the false-alarm ordinance. Would he have preferred seeing police officers chasing wild geese rather than protecting citizens?
And since Krause likes to talk tough on the budget, how about his opposition to cutting City Council pay by 5 percent? Sounds a lot like those guys in Washington who overspend on everything and then when it's time to trim some fat social programs are on the table but their salaries aren't.

Isn't Krause part of the problem?
Jackie Halberg has done amazing things since she came to the City Council. She has my vote.
