Reader's view: It's time for term limits for self-serving lawmakers

I'm so ashamed of our national legislators. They have no idea who they were elected to represent.

If the American voters re-elect them to office, they have no one to blame but themselves if our country goes down the tubes. So don't complain.

It may be time to have term limits like we do for the president. That way they would not owe anyone favors. They would not make it a profession, but they would serve the country and not themselves.

Everyone has to think when they go to vote and not vote the party like so many do. "My folks voted this; if it was good enough for them, it's good enough for me." Wake up and think whether they will represent you or put the money in their election coffers.
