I don't always agree with the opinions of the News Tribune, as determined by its editorial board. But I thought the newspaper got it right with its endorsement for Minnesota governor ( Our View/Endorsement: "Walz is the leader needed for Minnesota," Oct. 22).
The Republican candidate's lack of familiarity with Duluth's street tax proposal, and then, when finally learning about it, rejecting it simply because it was a tax showed a real lack of deep thinking and concern over Duluth's street-maintenance challenges. That's something we don't need in a governor.
