Needless to say, the Republican Party is corporate-oriented. Give the money to the rich at the top and they will see that it trickles down to the poor. It doesn't, but we have evidence it could trickle into Mitt Romney's garage so his cars have access to an electric elevator.

This trickling talk brings to mind an old memory of a romantic episode that occurred in Taiwan. During the Korean Peace Action, my band and I were flown from Okinawa to Taipei to entertain our troops. I ended the evening at the cabin of the belle of the ball. It was on a mountainside in the village. Quite romantic: no lights (no electricity) and some of the time we spent listening to a gently murmuring stream sounding in through the windows.

It was the next morning when I scrambled down to the road to begin my journey back to Okinawa. I paused to look up my descending romantic river. To my dismay I discovered it was sewage.

So much for trickling rivers.
