Reader's view: 'Ghostwriting' editorial was not needed

Individuals and pundits, as well as editorials pro and con, can come with stormy flurries, lots of fog and chilling remarks. Claims made about candidates should be taken with a grain of salt. That also applies to this letter.

I personally did not like the News Tribune's editorial on Oct. 31 (Our View: "Stauber ghost-writes own letter to editor"). The newspaper's Opinion page staff could make clear its policy on letters without the need of an editorial that filled nearly two full columns and that was filled with a negative connotation of Jim Stauber, who is running for St. Louis County commissioner. Stauber is an outstanding, creditable politician and would be a great addition to the County Board.

The Stauber family is well-known for its community involvement and commitment to service, sports, police work, judicial representation, ambulance first response, the City Council and police dispatching.

Vote Jim Stauber for county commissioner!
