Since January of this year, I have been able to witness Kerry Gauthier in action as a Duluth city councilor. Gauthier represents an area roughly encompassing lower Piedmont Heights and Lincoln Park. Although I do not live in his district, I do live in House District 7B, a seat being vacated by Roger Reinert as he pursues Yvonne Prettner Solon's Senate seat.
I have rarely witnessed such a stand-up guy in elected office as Gauthier. He is not afraid to voice his positions, regardless of political consequences. During his short tenure on the Duluth City Council, he has been a fierce advocate for his district. I suspect he will be a similar advocate in St. Paul for all of House District 7B.
Gauthier has worked behind the scenes for more than 30 years on issues concerning working people. He has not sought attention for those efforts. It is time to put his energy and his vision to work for us in St. Paul.
I urge my neighbors in House District 7B to support Kerry Gauthier as their next representative.
