Reader's view: Free enterprise remains a big plus for nation

Christmas this year continued to revive, restore and regale respect for the season of giving and receiving, making Christianity one of the greatest contributions for good in our presently distressful world.

Christmas this year continued to revive, restore and regale respect for the season of giving and receiving, making Christianity one of the greatest contributions for good in our presently distressful world.

As I noted in an earlier writing, Christians founded, developed and drove our U.S. to be an exceptional nation of wealth and power, a nation admired and helpful while also being friendly, strong and feared.

America remains a mecca for people looking for and hoping for a better life and expecting the best. Immigrants for the most part have strengthened the freedoms that mark the U.S. as a haven to be shared.

What also stands out is America's attraction for and practice of free enterprise that continues to create more jobs, a growing economy and larger workforce.

Our free enterprise, buffeted somewhat by present government intervention, remains a fair market for foreign goods and services and a big plus for ourselves and others throughout a needy world.
