Zack Filipovich first showed up on my radar five years ago when he contacted me about a student forum at the University of Minnesota Duluth. As leader of a campus organization, he impressed me with his energy, intelligence and grasp of student and community issues.
I met him again at my precinct caucus four years ago. We elected him precinct chairman. He quickly learned the ropes, worked hard and showed remarkable leadership. Our neighborhood is full of good people of all ages with a variety of opinions and viewpoints, none of whom are shy about sharing them. Filipovich demonstrated his ability to listen and draw meaningful conclusions from the dialogue. He also kept us in line.
Filipovich is one of the most hard-working individuals I've ever met. He takes nothing for granted. He has real humility and a clear understanding of local issues. He believes in the concept of earning election to the City Council through hard work and engaging people. The City Council needs diversity and different points of view from all ages and perspectives. Filipovich will provide that and much more. That's why I ask you to join me in voting for him for Duluth City Councilor At Large.
