Cheers to the writer of the Nov. 20 letter, "Charge in fatal accident was too lenient."
What would anyone do if it were their children who had been killed? How could the accused plead "not guilty" when it seems obvious he is guilty?
How can someone shooting a trophy buck out of season wind up with a possible $25,000 fine and up to five years in prison?
Do we value deer more than human life? Where are the sentencing guidelines? Where is common sense?
The accused man in the fatal accident, as prominent as he may be, should be treated as if he were a nobody. Give the man some jail time, please.
