In her Local View column Sept. 9, “Ferguson shooting shows we’re a long way from getting along,” Jane Hoffman expressed support for Trayvon Martin and Michael Brown in their encounters with law enforcement. In the incidents, Trayvon Martin jumped a community watchman and was banging his head on the pavement. And Michael Brown was shot in the top of the head as he apparently was charging a policeman half his size who he already had injured; and that was after roughing up an even smaller store owner.
In the absence of strong evidence to the contrary of the above, my support goes to the police. If an officer asks you to move along, just do it.
