Living in Germany for many years, I saw an education system second to none. Especially strong was the nation’s apprenticeship program. Not “college material?” Kein problem, mein kind. (No problem, my child). Go into the trades.
On Nov. 6, my beliefs on this were corroborated by a National Public Radio story headlined, “In South Carolina, a program that makes apprenticeships work.” Minnesota desperately needs a similar program, especially Northeastern Minnesota and along the North Shore.
