Finally, on the morning of Oct. 19, our News Tribune had a feel-good story as a banner. No disasters, no wars, no murders, no politics, just a great piece about a woman and her love of eagles and her wanting to do something special for her brother-in-law, a chaplain in Afghanistan, and how it all transpired ("Tribute for the troops").
The same day the woman brought a sign to Hawk Ridge, stating she wanted to "adopt" an eagle in the name of her brother-in-law, Lt. Cmdr. Stephen Coates, by banding it, that very same day, an adult eagle was caught, just the third eagle of more than 4,100 raptors caught and banded there this fall. Coincidence? I don't think so. I prefer to think of it as God working in our lives; we just have to be reminded now and then.
