Duluth has “Blue Angels” 365 days a year. These are the nurses who wear scrubs of blue and other colors and who work in the medical facilities in the Duluth-Superior area. The nurses are there to meet patients’ needs, whether it is to administer medications, assist with daily cares or provide CPR in extreme cases - and always with a smile.
The nurses at St. Luke’s, including its hospice program, and at other facilities are caring, dedicated and devoted to their patients and deserve to be thanked during Nurse’s Week, Friday, May 6, through Thursday, May 12.
It is also important to acknowledge the schools of higher education in the area. The College of St. Scholastica, Fond du Lac Community College, Lake Superior College and Wisconsin Indianhead Technical College and their nursing programs provide the community with well-educated, qualified nurses.
