My compliments to the News Tribune for the Sept. 25 Sunday Opinion page on Many Rivers Montessori schools’ offers to the Duluth school district to purchase former school buildings. The page was headlined, “Was this time different?”
The page came one day after a front-page story headlined, “Urgent care chain coming to Duluth, Cloquet.”
It would give me great pleasure if the residents and taxpayers of Independent School District 709 could open up the News Tribune and read that the Duluth School Board said, “God bless them; competition is an ongoing thing.”
John Strange, CEO of St. Luke’s Hospital, said that about the upcoming MedExpress chain coming to Cloquet and Duluth.
Could our School Board be open-minded enough to change a policy that is not in the best interest of our community?
