On Dec. 2, my brother, Jim Harris, and I traveled to Duluth to partake of the wonderful lutefisk, meatball and salmon dinner at First Lutheran Church. My cousin, Joanne Robson, accompanied us. It was wonderful, even if you don't eat lutefisk.
Joanne suggested we visit Bentleyville before heading back to Minneapolis. We arrived at the gates just as the lights were switched on. What a wonderful experience. Yes, the wind was cold; it felt like my face was freezing and the wind turned my legs to frozen logs. But the joy and excitement of the event made me forget all that.
How lucky Duluth and the Twin Ports are to have this wonderful opportunity to celebrate the season. How wonderful for families to be able to treat their children to such a joy-filled experience -- and for free; the $4 for parking is a very small price.
Nathan Bentley, his company and volunteers, and the city of Duluth have provided an amazing holiday display. I am so proud of my hometown.
