Dell, it is summertime again, which I am happy about -- except for the sightseers and tourists on Highway 61 heading up the North Shore.
Come on, people, if you are going 40 mph in a 55-mph area and you see a long line of vehicles behind you, pull over so others can pass. And stop going 40 mph in areas where no one can pass you and then speed up to 60 mph in areas where you can be passed. You are only going to cause an accident.
A lot of people who drive Highway 61 are area residents, and we have jobs to get to or other places to go; we're not out sightseeing. I'm not against tourists, but if they want to see the sights, they can pull over once in a while to let others pass.
We offer a lot of beautiful places to see up this way, and we are glad out-of-towners choose to come up here. But be reasonable; go the speed limit or pull over.
Another thing: All motorists should stay off their cell phones. I was in Duluth by St. Mary's Medical Center, and some woman in a gray van decided she wanted to change lanes -- without looking. I had to lay on the horn, and I saw her jump in her seat while still on her phone. Wake up, people! Pull over again if you want to be on your phone.

Drive safely or get off the road. I'm tired of the people who have no consideration for other drivers.
