So often it is easy for us to become comfortable with our surroundings. We think we are too small to make a difference. This is absolutely not the case.
There was a time in America when keeping another human as a slave was legal. There was a time when some people could not vote, own land or own their own house. There was a time when women could not vote. There was a time when, in some states, men and women of different races could not marry. I certainly hope this seems ridiculous to you.
At this time only six states in the United States allow gay couples to get married. On Nov. 6, the marriage amendment will appear on voting ballots in Minnesota. By voting yes, you are legislating discrimination into our state's constitution. This will affect thousands of people. This will break the hearts of many of your neighbors, friends, co-workers and, possibly, even family members.
It is my belief a family is created by two individuals loving and caring for each other.
Don't put a label on marriage and family! Don't put a limit on love.
