The Forum Communications endorsement editorial posted Oct. 7 said Republican Jeff Johnson was the "clear choice" for governor of Minnesota. Yes, if you want to make Minnesota resemble Gov. Scott Walker's Wisconsin where teachers and unions are demonized and billion-dollar tax breaks for foreign billionaires are handed out at the expense of vital state services.

In 2014, Johnson boasted to one of the many  Tea Party groups he has courted that he "wants to go all Scott Walker on Minnesota." He added that public unions have "too much power."

Living for many years in Colorado, I experienced firsthand how knee-jerk tax cuts can do great damage to all levels of government. I am referring to Colorado's ill-advised TABOR constitutional amendment. I'm happy to be back in a state that values decently funded basic services.

Voters shouldn't fall for the extreme anti-tax, anti-regulatory pandering of Jeff Johnson.
