I have been reading the articles regarding the St. Luke's neurosurgeon and realize how fortunate my husband may have been with regard to his treatment ("As St. Luke's reaped millions, surgeon racked up complaints," July 31).
He was treated for a neck problem and had surgery done by another neurosurgeon at St. Luke's. What is alarming is how close he came to seeing the surgeon being investigated by the News Tribune and perhaps experiencing long-term negative effects.
I always assumed our medical facilities were hiring reputable and capable doctors to treat our communities. Now I realize how close my husband came to not having that reassurance, and it is frightening.
