In response to the letter April 26 on the state of "the funnies," they are printed in newspapers for the masses, not just one person's taste. There are strips that I don't laugh at either, so I just skip them. Other people probably enjoy them.
"Prince Valiant" and "Rex Morgan M.D." aren't meant to be gut laughs; they are continuing story lines that many people must enjoy, as they have been published for years. Personally, I like stories that have a historical backdrop, so I enjoy "Prince Valiant," and there are parts of it that can make me laugh.
