All's well that ends well. Duluth City Attorney Gunnar Johnson found City Councilor Todd Fedora's concerns regarding possible malfeasance by Councilor Sharla Gardner were without merit ("Duluth councilor's Japan trip wasn't improper, city attorney says," June 10). Wonderful! We can all go back to our regularly scheduled programming.
I'd like to suggest, however, that in the future, our elected officials spend more time actually engaged in city business and waste less time trying to dig up dirt on each another. I'd also suggest, in the future, the News Tribune actually does its homework and gets the facts of the matter straight before running vituperative editorials based on a lot of nothing.
Not only did Gardner deserve better than to be persecuted by a colleague seemingly intent on pursuing a political vendetta, but this community deserved better than to have to witness such an absurd farce played out on the pages of its local newspaper.
