I have been a trial lawyer since 1968, practicing in courtrooms in Minnesota, Wisconsin, Montana, North Dakota and South Dakota. I also have served as a district court judge in Minnesota. I have been in a position to observe the type of temperament and experience essential to be a successful district court judge.
I have known Tim Costley for more than 10 years, have been on the opposite side of the counsel table from him in contested litigation, and have observed how he conducts himself with clients, judges, attorneys and court personnel. I believe Costley has the temperament and breadth of experience necessary to be an outstanding trial court judge. He would serve well the citizens of Northeastern Minnesota.
