For a week or more, news media reports have included stories of the bullying crisis in schools, bullying so severe it has led to at least three (and probably more) student deaths by suicide.
At the most recent Duluth School Board meeting, Superintendent Keith Dixon talked about training the district has planned for Duluth students on the topic of bullying.
Here's an idea: Why not show the students a video of the Oct. 19 debate between U.S. Rep. Jim Oberstar and Republican challenger Chip Cravaack? Focus on the behavior of the audience. Then explain to the students that this is the way grownups behave when they are bullying people.
Perhaps Dixon can include an anti-bullying curriculum for the so-called grownups of Duluth.
Sign me just plain disgusted.
