Spiders, bats and slugs, oh my! Like Moriah Erickson, the Duluth writer of the April Local View column, "Americans won't let fear stop them," I, too, have had moments of "oh no, oh gosh, whoops, help," even backing up to ask how I can remove an invader. I felt Erickson's account of showering with a spider was reduced to an everyday story gone bad. Really?! Killing the spider clearly was uncalled-for violence. Every day we have opportunities to teach our children constructive and respectful problem-solving. Never mind the article's insulting comparison to the Boston bombings.
