The only Duluth mayoral candidate willing to talk about the city and its failures in management seems to be Chuck Horton.
Recently in the news was the permit debacle over the water line from the St. Louis River to the Spirit Mountain ski hill. This almost lost the taxpayers millions of dollars but was saved by a last-minute agreement with the railroad.
The taxpayers also were about to be on the hook for a new library at a cost of $35 million. The current library cannot be maintained and restored?
Roads must be a priority, using good planning and development without dreaming of a bike lane on each street. What about making our streets safe by aggressively tackling the drug problems that seem to consistently grow?
City management needs new blood, somebody who is not afraid to call a spade a spade. I think Chuck Horton is just that kind of candidate.
