You never see accidents coming, especially on Christmas Eve when most people are thinking about spending time with family. We were no different.

We were on our way to Tofte in the family minivan, which was filled with all the food and presents for Christmas, when out of nowhere we hit Jerry Fryberger's car just north of Duluth. It was a scary and stressful experience as we pulled the minivan out of the ditch; it wasn't drivable. Because we were both under 25, renting a car was out of our price range -- not that any rental cars were left in Duluth.

Here is where our day brightened. An exceptionally kind police officer gave us a ride to K&J Service and Towing, where our tow truck driver, Lowell, sat with us for three hours, keeping us smiling the entire time. Our Christmas was truly saved when Fryberger rented us what must have been the last rental car in Duluth so we could get to our family in Tofte.

We have never seen generosity like Fryberger's. His kindness and the size of his heart astounded us! It's rare to find someone like that, and I'd go so far as to say he is one of a kind. We couldn't thank him enough. We wish him all the best.
