Dick Beardsley always has been an icon Grandma's Marathon, one of the largest events in the city, bringing in so much revenue and putting Duluth on the map.
It irked me that the News Tribune put his personal finances on the front page ("Marathoner Beardsley files for bankruptcy," Aug. 28). Did editors think the story would sell more papers? I think it did just the opposite. Why doesn't the News Tribune focus on positive events?
