Reader's view: Bar problems pale compared to Last Place on Earth

There were those who felt the Kozy Bar should be closed and put out of business because it was such a nuisance, with drunks causing fights and other disturbances. The same for the NorShor.

Well, in my opinion, the problems associated with those two places pale in comparison to the goings on at the Last Place on Earth. There must be more authorities can do there. Respectable nearby businesses being forced to close because of this embarrassing eyesore should be the final straw ("Downtown Duluth businesses decry synthetic drug users," May 22).

In the newspaper, Mayor Don Ness, who I like and respect, didn't seem to have any answers. We have a big summer coming up with major events that are promising to bring in tens of thousands of visitors from throughout the world. Yet Last Place on Earth will continue to open its doors and thrive for all to see.
