Reader's view: Autistic son thrives at Carlton’s South Terrace

My son is autistic. His name is Bryant, and he is 9 years old. He has been going to Carlton South Terrace Elementary School for the past couple of years via an Autism Spectrum Disorder classroom because of problems at his previous school.

This year he spent most of his time in his regular class with the help of his teachers. With the pure acceptance of everyone in the Carlton community and South Terrace my son thrived educationally as well as socially and even won an award for his behavior and politeness.
I’ve tried other news stations to cover this story, but for some reason nobody has covered this.
I say job well done Carlton South Terrace Elementary and especially the ASD classroom teachers. More school districts and communities should follow the example of Carlton and its schools.
