I read the Aug. 26 letter, "A vote to ban gay marriage is a vote to deny basic freedom."
Our basic freedoms are life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness. Where is it said gays are denied life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness?
I don't care what anyone does behind closed doors. If two men or two women want to live together, that's their choice. This is about gays and lesbians trying to shove their beliefs down our throats.
I'd like to know who they feel is judging them. This issue is not about judging unless it's about gays judging others who believe in what God has taught.
I believe in what the Bible teaches: marriage is between one man and one woman, to bring children into the world. I believe why Jesus died for us.

What will the children raised by same-sex couples say as they grow up? Will they ask, "Which one of you is my mother and who is my father?" Their minds will be so screwed up they won't know right and wrong.
And how do same-sex parents teach about procreation? Who do they say gives birth?
People of faith need to be asking whether the marriage amendment is truly what our faith calls us to do. Absolutely, yes, it does. We live the Bible every day of our lives. Where are the signs stating, "Marriage is between a man and a woman?" It's time to stand up, people of all faiths, and be counted.
