While I applaud Duluth and the City Council for their hard work in promoting mountain biking within the city ("Mud-free mountain biking: All-weather trail could soon come to Duluth," Aug. 14), I wish they would put as much effort into the sidewalks throughout our neighborhoods.
How about going after people who don't cut the shrubs along the sidewalks or who don't shovel? How about areas that are buckled? How about repairing pieces of sidewalk that are missing altogether? How about crosswalks at major intersections, such as 24th Avenue East and Fourth Street?
And please don't tell me to report these issues to the city. I have and nothing has happened.
