I continue to read in the paper and listen on television about people who don't want to respect our new president. I'm guessing they didn't vote for him. Where is the respect for the people who did vote for him?
I'm guessing those not respecting President Donald Trump were part of the lucky group of people who were not affected by our previous President Barack Obama.
Maybe their insurance premiums didn't skyrocket along with huge deductibles, thereby rendering their insurance as almost non-existent.
Maybe they weren't on Social Security and therefore didn't notice there were no raises while people's insurance premiums went up so their net Social Security went down.
Maybe they were lucky to have a government job, therefore their job was secure.

Maybe their company wasn't subject to countless mandates to the point the plant closed and moved overseas.
Maybe they made so much money, the huge increase in gas prices didn't affect them like it did so many others. Food prices went up, too, and the costs of goods. There was even a surcharge on garbage to offset costs. For the most part, costs didn't go down, so, again, whatever income people have is now less.
Maybe it doesn't affect Trump opponents when the state of Minnesota continued to help a few on the backs of many. Recently, our governor announced he wants to start another insurance program. I guess he hasn't heard the federal Affordable Care Act will be repealed.
Maybe Trump opponents don't understand respect is a two-way street. When they respect the people tired of the lives they had to live under the last president, maybe then they will respect that people voted for a change.
