One thing I would like to say is that the father of the 10-year-old hunter featured in the Nov. 15 News Tribune ("Big antlers for a young buck") has got to be kidding to allow his 10-year-old out in the woods hunting deer. He is just a baby. He should be home helping Mom bake bread and rolls.

What are we doing in this country? These kids don't have to be grown up at age 10. Come on! Deer hunting is really not that important. These kids should be doing things in school. I sure don't know why the boy shouldn't pass a gun-safety course; what is the law?

I guess I can just take my grandson up here and say, "Go hunt deer. Who cares?" I think as long as the Department of Natural Resources gets its money that's all that counts. It's all about money.

That father should be ashamed of himself. Be careful. I'm 74, and I know all about it. What does the mother think?
