Two years ago a bill which could have hurt some of the people I represent was moving forward at the Legislature behind closed doors at session's end. That's when I received a call from Tarryl Clark. She not only told me the bill was moving forward, she wanted my input on behalf of the people I represent. I spoke with Clark or her top aide half a dozen times that day as the bill's language was negotiated. Every time it changed, she made sure workers wouldn't be hurt.

I've been involved in politics and represented workers in a myriad of settings for 37 years. Never before or since have I worked with an elected official so determined to ensure working people were protected and so willing to reach out to do it.

I'll be voting for Tarryl Clark for Congress in Tuesday's primary.
