I spent a couple of days hunting pheasants with Duluth's Debbie Waters and Julie O'Connor this week near Madison, Minn. Waters makes two or three trips to the area each year to hunt pheasants, always in late season. She and O'Connor both work under contract with Hawk Ridge Bird Observatory in Duluth, so they're busy with the hawk migration during October, when pheasant season opens.
