Let’s carefully review these words from the Sunday, June 21 News Tribune: “ Legislators failed to compromise on aid spending for communities affected by COVID-19 and civil unrest stemming from Floyd’s death. And they remained split on police accountability. ”
Our Minnesota legislators have clearly demonstrated that the needs of their political parties trump the needs of those they were elected to represent. In the private world, such “non-performance” and childish behavior would probably result in summary dismissal. Unfortunately, we don’t have that option.
But I think each of us should remember these things when we see “incumbent” on the ballot in November. We need representatives, not legislators.
