We may have been the greatest country on earth. We may have been the richest country on earth. We may have been the strongest country on earth. We may have been the most respected country on earth. We may have been the most envied country on earth. We may have been the most feared country on earth.
But after the last election’s shenanigans — perpetrated by President Donald Trump with GOP approval and with 17 state lawsuits attempting to overturn that election — we surely are not the smartest country on earth.
Please do not laugh; it is actually humiliating.
