Rep. Pete Stauber voted against the federal infrastructure bill. After it passed, he took credit for local projects that were included in the bill (“ Stauber touts grants from bill he voted against ,” Jan. 10).
He said in an “Incumbent’s View” commentary in the News Tribune (“ 'Get our economy moving again with pro-growth policies' ,” July 2) that the people in our part of Minnesota “believe in going to work each day and the dignity that a job brings.” Dignity, as well as financial benefits, accrue to those holding union jobs — yet Stauber voted against the Protecting the Right to Organize Act.
In his Opinion piece, Stauber also said: “I believe in you, not the federal government.” Yet he is seeking to remain in public office and to continue to receive a paycheck from the federal government.
If consistency and coherency are important attributes for one in public office, Stauber is clearly not up to the job.
