I was quite disappointed listening to Rep. Pete Stauber being interviewed on Minnesota Public Radio the afternoon of Jan. 8. He again trashed his reputation. He refused to support any investigation into the possible involvement of President Donald Trump in the destruction and deaths at the U.S. Capitol.
As a former law enforcement officer, his apparent attitude about this illegal and violent event is very disappointing. His attempt to say that what happened at the Capitol was little different from what happened at the mostly peaceful Black Lives Matter protests last summer was very discouraging.
Stauber continues to seem a part of Trump‘s attacks on our democratic institutions. His own political interest is failing to represent his constituents, much less the needs of our state or nation. Shame!
