The Minnesota State High School League should consider creating an MVP trophy for the boys’ Minnesota State High School Hockey Tournament. Perhaps the newly created MVP trophy could be named after the late Doug Woog, who was the head coach of the University of Minnesota Golden Gophers hockey team. This would go to the player who leads his school to a state hockey championship. With two classes in boys’ hockey, there would be two MVP trophies.
Of course, the Minnesota State High School League should also do two MVP trophies for the girls’ Minnesota State High School Hockey Tournament. There are two classes for girls’ hockey as well.
