Reader's View: Notify voters of absentee-ballot errors

We are part of The Trust Project.

Voting is an honor and privilege for all citizens.

Our government can help by alerting those who send in absentee ballots, especially for the first time, to sign their name the way it appears on the envelope sent to them; to fill out all blank spaces, even if there is a sticker with some information already filled out, using the same identification as used on the application; and to return the ballot in a timely manner.

By having voters aware of possible omissions or inaccuracies, we can all help make voting a success.
