While the regulatory process took a very long time, Line 3 is finally happening and construction is underway.
Minnesota now has an opportunity to show the rest of the country how to get projects like this done.
It is time that other states follow our lead and allow these valuable infrastructure projects to break ground. Especially in times of economic hardship like we are facing now, our economy can use the jobs.
Infrastructure projects like the Line 3 Replacement Project clearly benefit the areas in which they are built during construction. They also benefit the entire region once work is complete. Line 3 itself will bring more than $2 billion into Minnesota during construction, and it will bring tens of millions of dollars in taxes post-construction.
This project will also make sure our state refineries have a reliable source of petroleum for the foreseeable future, which will help keep fuel prices down.

This project is what we need at a time when good economic news is essential. With our state’s economy suffering and unemployment on the rise, this project will help curb these problems. With the safety benefits added on, it makes sense why state and federal authorities approved it.
We need to make sure construction continues smoothly so our state can continue reaping the benefits of this project.
