I am writing this to express my disappointment with Mayor Emily Larson’s position of not mandating the wearing of face masks in public places. It doesn’t protect all citizens (“ Duluth mayor: No mask requirement coming ,” June 19).
This stand is not typical of Larson’s enlightened attitudes about society and its issues. I have to wonder what caused this change in her policies. I believe public safety should always be a priority of public servants.
