Violence never resolves violence. Destroying and looting businesses that represent an important economic engine of a city will only hurt all of the people who live there — not just the police. I call upon my fellow distressed and justifiably angry Americans to follow the precepts of Dr. Martin Luther King and protest the alleged murder of George Floyd in a nonviolent way. Though our justice system may be slow to respond, it is far more accurate and methodical than mob "justice." Let the authorities garner information and process this crime thoroughly and properly so that we can learn from this tragic incident — so that it may never happen again.
