I have great concern for our democracy.
Under our president's leadership, paramilitary forces are threatening citizens who are peacefully demonstrating. Unidentified people are reportedly striking citizens with clubs and spraying tear gas into faces and arresting people and putting them into unmarked cars and driving off. It looks like a Nazi tactic of 85 years ago during which stormtroopers and German youth threatened citizens to silence them and to create fear.
We do not need a night of broken glass to know our liberties are in jeopardy. City mayors are asking Congress to stop this unnecessary antagonizing of people who are supporting change. We should be doing the same.
